After years of neglected maintenance, today, Silsden Pavilion is not fit for use.
-
The exterior is not waterproof, which has resulted in fallen ceilings and mould.
-
The 90-year-old building has small rooms which are not viable for today’s park users.
Silsden Pavilion Community Group’s plan
- The side extensions will be rebuilt to provide toilets and eliminate the security problems posed by the alcoves.
- The roof will be changed to a simple structure covering the existing flat roofs.
The interior currently consists of a series of small unusable rooms.
The interior future will become mostly open-plan,
-
- incorporating a kitchen and cafe/meeting place,
- unisex and disabled toilet with baby changing facilities.
It could look like this:

Where are we now with our plans?
We are working towards achieving our plans with Bradford Council. We have regular meetings with Bradford Council, and things are progressing – slowly!
Very soon, we hope to be able to progress the changes required to make this a building we can all use when we visit Silsden Park. A meeting place with refreshments and toilet facilities – a sustainable building for all Silsden Park users.
