GOOD NEWS, after years of talking about refurbishing the pavilion, we are now able to do something about it.

Bradford Council will allow SPCG access to the Section 106 monies allocated for the project. This means we can make better use of the funds available to design in the features which you said you would like to see the pavilion used for.

We have engaged an architect to draw up the plans for the planning application for the changes required, and we hope to appoint a suitably qualified building contractor to implement the plans (subject to competitive quotes).

Below is a 3D walk-through video of what the refurbished interior pavilion could be like.

You said you would like…  (from the survey carried out in 2024)

Since the survey was carried out, Storm Rugby now have its own changing facilities, which negates pressure for the pavilion to be used for this purpose. However, they do need catering facilities, which the pavilion refurbishment can provide.

Silsden Pavilion Community Group’s plan

  • The side extensions will be rebuilt to provide toilets and eliminate the security problems posed by the alcoves.
  • The roof will be changed to a simple structure covering the existing flat roofs.

The interior will become mostly open-plan,

    • incorporating a kitchen and cafe/meeting place,
    • unisex and disabled toilet with baby changing facilities.
    • It will be disabled (DDA) compliant.
    • It will be future-proofed and warm.
